The Girl Effect

At NMSC, we know that there is more to soccer than what happens on the pitch, and some of our life’s most significant efforts occur in our schools  and within the community. Our commitment to raising awareness is driven by the understanding that we have a special responsibility to give back to our local communities and those around the world. All of us who are a part of NMSC know the difference we can make in the lives of others, and our players take great pride in leading that effort.

As part of our mission to demonstrate leadership in social responsibility, The Girls 1997 program has aligned themselves with CONVEY, a non profit organization based out of Chicago with a mission to provide clothing with a message of awareness for causes across the globe.

CONVEY Has designed our awareness apparel for the 2011 season.  This year the girls will be working on a campaign to raise awareness for The Girl Effect.

“The Girl Effect is quite simply the greatest untapped solution to eradicating poverty and raising standards of living in the developing world.”

Thanks to strong partnerships with internationally-recognized community organizations such as these two, we are proud to support this initiative.

Meanwhile, Our players continue to address issues close to their hearts, including assisting underprivileged children, supporting communities where they were raised, and aiding health-related causes. These concerted efforts generate awareness and raise funds for important social issues, providing opportunities for a better life in communities worldwide.

We understand that our game is just the beginning of our opportunity to help. We hope you take the time to learn more about The Girls 1997 Program and, more importantly, are inspired to join us in making a difference.
